Released from prison after serving a 10-year stretch for anti-government activities, Martin attempts to regain contact with his band of former collaborators--in particular, his then-girlfriend Julia, who escaped with the proceeds of their last bank robbery, but whose fate thereafter is shrouded in mystery. His quest takes him into a shadowy netherworld of governmental corruption, well-kept secrets, and sudden, brutal violence.
