Based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, narrative follows the travels of Tom Brackett, a has-been American singer songwriter who has just embarked on a tour of Eastern Europe. Tom meets up with Natascha, who has just jilter her hulking Russian mafia-don fiance. The two fall in love and join the circus, with the Russian mob in pursuit.
