As 89-year-old Saket Ram tries to die as gracefully as possible in his home in India, waves of nostalgia and horrific memories from the 1940s flood through his head. Such thoughts transport him to the scorched earth of India during the bloody civil war that ultimately divided the land to accomodate the neo-Islamic state of Pakistan.
