Dreaming of becoming a rock star and not wanting to work for the summer, 29-year-old Lukas goes to stay in his father's apartment on the island of Gotland. Once he arrives, he's surprised to discover 69-year-old writer Marja is subleting the place and not keen on sharing it. After some initial quarreling the two work out an arrangement where Lukas will assist Marja on the memoir she's writing.
