Within the shadow of Mont St Michel, a young hiker couple part after an argument. She quickly appears to meet her death under the wheels of a mysterious Land Rover while he is welcomed into the home of a sickly old man who has a pathological fear of death. However, the couple is ultimately reunited, yet trapped, in the old man's mansion.
