Sanjay, a young British-Punjabi struggling artist, is dumped by his girlfriend Jill because he won't marry her. Jill goes away for a week to New York. Over the next 24 hours, Sanjay has sex with his ex-girlfriend Nora and an artists' model, and is reluctantly introduced to a potential bride, Amarjeet, over dinner with his parents, who don't approve of Jill because she is black. Pleased with his sexual success, he bets his friends that he can bed seven women in seven day, becoming "the guru" if he succeeds.
