A chronicle of presidential candidate John Kerry's career, from his time in Vietnam in 1968-69 and his association with Vietnam Veterans Against the War, which culminated in a mass action by that group in Washington, D.C. in April 1971, through the post-war years of peace advocacy that shaped his political life.

This excellent film presents a carefully burnished view of John Kerry's war and anti-war record - tracing his path from Swift-boat commander to protest leader. Director George Butler combines interviews with fellow Vietnam Veterans Against the War and archival footage of Kerry on the prep-school fields of St. Paul's, the rivers of Vietnam and, finally, on Capitol Hill, leading an epic demonstration.
