This superior documentary recounts the twenty-year rise to semistardom of the oddball-pop Brooklyn duo in a style as enchanting and eccentric as Johns Linnell and Flansburgh themselves. And the staggering four and a half hours of lagniappe include the Giants' avant-goofy videos and concert and TV footage, such as their Carson-era Tonight Show culture-clash rendition of "Birdhouse in Your Soul," backed by Doc Severinsen and his orchestra.
