Italian director Gianni Zanasi and two of the cast members of his 1995 film "In the Thick of It" travel to the poor neighborhood of southern Bari to screen the film for local youth. While in crime-stricken Bari, the trio face a number of difficult situations, including the theft of their movie camera and a local shootout.
