For a brief moment, station master Thomas Hudetz is distracted by the flirtatious behavior of a woman named Anna. This results in a catastrophic train accident and many people lose their lives. Thomas and Anna lie to escape blame and their shared lie forges a bond between them. However, it also ends more lives.
