A Parisian English teacher has a sudden windfall in the form of a $64,000 inheritance from her grandmother. On a whim, she decides to leave her gray existence behind and go to Cannes on the French Riviera, where she checks into a swanky hotel. A casual run-in with what seems at first to be a rich man but soon turns out to be a swindler with a debt, changes her plans as she decides to offer the man a loan on her own terms.
