Nick, a Munich lawyer and Charlotte, a banker, are a couple. Luis, a painter, and his neglected wife, Eva, are having trouble making ends meet. When Eva discovers that Luis has gone to Venice with Charlotte, she kidnaps Nick with a water-pistol and drives him and her two children south to retrieve Luis.
