synopsis
Filmed over one year in Manning, South Carolina following the Ku Klux Klan buring of two local African American churches, the story follows Timothy Welch, a white man who, as a KKK member, set fire to the Macedonian Baptist Church. From his vantage point in prison, Welch reflects upon how his involvement in the Klan led him to racial violence. He now seeks forgiveness from the very people he set out to harm. Through interviews with members of both the African American community and the KKK, the film shows the process of Welch's forgiveness and suggests the possibility for racial harmony.
