Set in 1912, a couple, Juliette and Philipp, are on their honeymoon traveling the world on a luxury liner. During an argument, she accuses Philipp of marrying her for her father's money. Soon, she meets a young woman on her way to marry a missionary she has never met. In a sudden decision, the two girls swap identities, and Juliette, dressed in simple clothes, sets out for India to meet her missionary.
