Set on New Year's Eve 1999, a series of vignettes occur away from any celebration as a group of people come to understand the healing powers of a festive season. Paloma and Manuel are newly weds trying to reach Paloma's parents house, but their car breaks down on the highway. Meanwhile, the father is stranded in an unfamiliar part of town, and his car stolen by Johnny to impress his girlfriend Jasmina. And a group of German tourists are also stranded on the roads that night, trying to reach a New Year's mass.
