Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
A spoofish, gore story about a mild-mannered editor, Edward Svensson, who undergoes a mysterious, desensitizing transformation when his boss removes him from cutting one of his usually sedate films (a typical "Euro arthouse" pic) and reassigns to him edit a series of schlockish, splatter flicks. Stuck behind a movieola in his boss' summer cottage, endlessly witnessing mutilations and violations of the worst order, the formerly artistic professional devolves into "Evil Ed," a wicked, maniacal killer.
