Famous theatre director Jakob loses his eyesight in a serious car accident and descends into a pit of sorrow, self-pity and hilariously inept suicide attempts. Enter Lily, the social worker designated to rebuild Jakob's will to live. Like Jakob, she is blind, but she is not about to let the baleful Jakob know that. Lily has adapted well and she refuses to give up on her curmudgeonly ward.
