Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
16-year-old Emma lives in a village in Northern England. She discovers that she is pregnant, and this is definitely not planned. She is about to compete in a beauty contest, the prize being a place in the grand finale in London and a contract with a modelling agency. Her boyfriend Tommy wins a bet daring him to bungy-jump from the roof of the local factory. Tommy wins enough money to buy the site where he wants to build the home of his dreams - a home to share with Emma. Proudly he shows her the site, not taking her ambitions into consideration. Against all odds Emma wins the contest and goes to London followed by a film team headed by the cynical and ruthless talk show host Charlie. He wants to make a documentary about the village girl's road to stardom.
