Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Story begins on the wedding day of Lanjuan whose marriage is put on hold when gunmen kill her entire family. Nine years later, she hooks up with the contract killer Li Qingyang who she hires to take care of the assassins. The killers are associated with the warlord Xiong Jinbao whose power base is Dragon Town. With Li posing as a merchant and Lanjuan as his wife, the pair take up residence in the city during the New Year Festival.
