Here’s our other favorite trailer for a 2012 movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Quentin Tarantino serves up another tale of vengeance with “Django Unchained,” the highly anticipated “southern” that chronicles the journey of a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) as he looks to be reunited with his long-lost wife — and runs afoul of a sadistic ranch owner (DiCaprio) en route.
If the first trailer for the film is any indication, Tarantino is still one of the most exciting and inventive filmmakers of his generation; he’s also one of the few directors who could open a movie just on the merits of his name alone — even if he couldn’t score an A-list cast every time. He seems to have found a terrific new muse in Christoph Waltz, the “Inglourious Basterds” star who looks like he’ll be stealing the show once again.
Oh, and as we suspected, Leo makes for a great villain — he’s obviously having a lot of fun playing a sleazy aristocrat who’s turned his ranch into a bizarre sideshow/brothel.
Check out the trailer below, courtesy of Fandango. “Django Unchained” opens Dec. 25.
