Still mourning the death of their mother, Junior and Scooter decide they need a new woman in their lives. But they soon discover that their slice of West Texas offers few alternatives. That is, until one fateful day, in the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggly, when they meet DeDe. With DeDe, the brothers face new responsibilities, especially after her husband, who turns out to be a renegade Texas Ranger, burns down their house. And so, naturally, they decide to rob banks--or to be more specific, one bank. What follows is a sneaky comedy about a band of outsiders who live according to their eccentric set of dysfunctional family values.
