Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Chosen to appear in a new perfume commercial, 18-year-old Jessy meets the handsome Gerard who is cast as her lover in the spot. When they begin to date, her friends are alarmed. At home, each has their problems to deal with as Gerard's sick father dies which only helps force the couple's eventual break-up. When the commercial airs repeatedly and successfully, it only makes them more miserable. Bound by contract to reshoot a milder version of the spot, an on-set encounter scadalizes the crew; but after fighting, the two patch things up.
