A young woman turns up at the door of a good-hearted, middle-aged chef. She claims to be the daughter of his ex-wife and suffering from poverty. He takes her in, falls in love with her, and then she carries on an affair with his best friend. It turns out she has gold-digging on her mind and soon thoughts of murder abound.
