Drina Gordon lives in the slums of New York's Lower East Side. She attempts to to prevent her younger brother Tommy from wasting his life in the local street gang. But it is hard to persuade the local boys away from the glamor of the gangs, especially when they idolize Baby Face Martin, a onetime East- sider who has hit the "big time" as a notorious gangster.
