Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
Abandoned by her husband after a mastectomy, Judy moves to the countryside with her grandfather and works as a restaurant hostess at night. Feeling robbed of confidence and dignity as a result of her cancer, the relationship with her grandfather is her last link to happiness. Tragedy strikes again when her grandfather is injured in a car accident. She meets Jordan, a low-rent Kowloon Triad member with no family or purpose. He is in the same ward as her grandfather, his wounds the result of his failure to repay a gangster's loan. Fate soon entwines their lonely lives when they must babysit the loanshark's newborn illegitimate son. The experience brings fresh air to Judy's stale life and the two unravel the truths of each other's past. Their happiness, however, is short-lived; when the father reclaims his son, Judy questions her faith in daily life. Jordan, meanwhile, is placed in a situation that will bring new hope to their world - but at what cost?
