Two 10-year-olds, Mouss and Mario, born on the same day and whose lives practically mirror each another, make it through a harrowing life-and death experience thanks to their solid friendship; the duo make an oath to one another that regardless of what life had in store for them, they'd get together on their 40th birthday. Some 12 years later, the "twins"--Mouss and Mario--get mixed up in a shady art deal that backfires. When there is an accidental slaying, Mario gets arrested eventhough Mouss was actually responsible for the crime. Thusly, Mario spends 20 years in jail, refusing to rat on his friend, yet thinking of what he would do on the day he would find his long-lost "best mate." Simultaneously, Mouss has fled abroad, wandering from country to country, unable to forget his own cowardice and shameless treachery.
