As an ongoing cilvil war and fighting in Kosovo persists, a man decides to return to Belgrade in an attempt to make up with his estranged wife, while his taxi driver questions his wisdom in returning to a war-torn city that anyone with half a brain has already left. From there we are introduced to some of the ravaged city's hopeless denizens including a refugee family living in a garage, an emotionally broken boxer who kills his best friend, a bus hijacker, and an ex-cop who has been beaten up by one of his own former victims.
