Two Parisians meet while drowning their sorrows in a local bar: Raoul has just left his wife, while Felix has had his furniture repossessed after failing to pay alimony to his ex. Another man in the bar offers them a job, as traveling salesmen for a wine company. The two take off to Brittany, but are unsuccessful salesmen. However, they soon meet Eliane, who is so beautiful that everyone begins to buy the wine. Their rural idyll starts to sour though when Felix and Eliane begin an affair, leaving Raoul the disgruntled odd man out.
