Bradley Cooper Takes Aim at ‘American Sniper’

In the vanity vehicle “Limitless,” we learned that Bradley Cooper is capable of unlimited mental powers, but that wasn’t good enough for Brad. Now he wants unlimited killing powers.

After Warner Bros. dashed his hopes to play Satan in “Paradise Lost,” they’re giving Cooper the opportunity for the next best thing in “American Sniper,” which The Hollywood Reporter says will be the first picture made under the “Hangover” star’s production shingle 22nd & Indiana.

Cooper will play Texas native Chris Kyle, the United States’ deadliest sniper in history with 160 confirmed kills out of 255 claimed kills, who fought through all the major battles of Operation Iraqi Freedom over the course of four tours of duty as an elite Navy SEAL. While dealing out death in Ramadi, west of Baghdad, Kyle’s nickname was “The Devil of Rahmadi” with an $80,000 dollar price tag on his head.

The script will be written by Jason Dean Hall, who scripted the recent Liam Hemsworth/Harrison Ford vehicle “Paranoia,” and will be based on the book “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” which was co-written with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice.

No word yet on whether an incident in which Kyle allegedly punched Former SEAL Jesse Ventura in the face will make it to the final cut.
