Bu lives in a small fishing village in Taiwan, nursing romantic daydreams. When she one day discovers a cryptic message in a bottle, signed by an 'Albert' from Hong Kong, she can't resist traveling to that city. Once there, Bu is disappointed to discover that Albert is gay. But with Albert's help she quickly meets and becomes involved with C. N. Chan, a local playboy. The couple runs into trouble, however, when their pasts start to catch up with them.
