Big Hitter: Top Gear, Family Guy: The Movie, and This Weekend’s Films of Note

Movies This Weekend That Might Interest You
My official review of Duplicity will be out on Friday morning, but I’m giving it a B so I’d call that a good sign. I’m not reviewing I Love You, Man (Eric D. Snider is), but I’d put it in that range too. So two decent films are out, how about that? I haven’t heard anything on Knowing yet, but you’ll be the first to know when I do.

Press Releases of Note
Two Film.com items actually. First off, our community section has been expanded to feature Blogs and Photos. If you’re looking to get your opinion on movies, television, and celebs out into the world, I’d highly recommend giving the blog feature a whirl. Who knows, you might even catch the eye of one of our editors and become quasi-world famous.

Secondly, the new and improved podcast is now rescheduled to launch on March 26. Set your calender for that!

Things I heard on the Adam Carolla Podcast
Oddly enough, you can break news items by just listening to the Ace-Man. First off, his guest Seth MacFarlane mentioned that a Family Guy Movie is going to happen “in the next few years” (he hopes). He also said it wouldn’t just be an elongated Family Guy episode; there would need to be a reason for it to be in movie form. Hmmm …

Next up, Adam himself mentioned that the Top Gear America pilot he shot for NBC was officially passed on. He seemed rather confused by the whole affair, indicating that he felt they’d nailed the feel of the BBC version, one of the top-rated shows in Europe.

What I Watched Last Night Besides a Movie
Ummm, I watched a movie. I suppose that’s cheating. But I would have watched a TiVo of Celebrity Apprentice if I’d had the chance. It’s all-time trainwreck TV — the Donald is in rare form.

What I’m Reading Right Now
The Great Decision by Cliff Sloan and David McKean. It’s about the first case where the Supreme Court struck down a law as unconstitutional. I read about it on Slate.com and figured I’d give it a whirl. It’s damn good so far.

Deep Thought of the Day
I’m headed to Las Vegas for a few days of NCAA gambling. If you could keep your fingers crossed for me I’d be grateful.

Videos For You
How about the old (but delightful) Forrest Gump in a minute? Note: I originally wanted to run the best skit from last weekend’s SNL — “Rocket Dog” — but it doesn’t seem to be available.
