Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
From the inception of their illicit journey through their attempts at assimilation in the U.S., a study of six balseros, or rafters, who were part of the 40,000 poor Cubans refugees, who set sail for Florida on makeshift boats in 1994-'95 while Cuba and the United States were struggling through heated negotiations. The refugees fled their native country before Fidel Castro and President Clinton reached an agreement on keeping them ashore at home.
