synopsis
Nick, a smooth operator, is trying to land a date with a young, attractive divorcee, Suzanne. Problem is Suzanne is stuck working in Vancouver and miserable because she misses her kids. Seizing the opportunity, Nick gallantly offers to make her wish come true--and his own in the process--by bringing seven-year-old Kevin and eleven-year-old Lindsey up from Portland, Oregon to be reunited with their mom. What Nick doesn’t know is that Suzanne's children think that no man is good enough for their mom and will do everything they can to make the trip a nightmare for him. Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Ice Cube's transition from "The Nigga You Love to Hate" to a Hollywood-friendly family man is officially complete. As big-pimpin' sports-memorabilia shop owner Nick Persons, Cube gets saddled with his girlfriend's kids on a road trip and reduced to casting his gangsta scowl at odd smells in the car. Nicest touch is the Greek chorus of Tracy Morgan as the voice of Negro League pitcher Satchel Paige: "Don't look back, they might be gaining on you." Sage words.
When an avowed bachelor offers to take a road trip with a 7-year old and 11-year old in the hopes of winning the heart of their mother, hilarity ensues. Really, I promise! The merriment is practically baked-right in--if you happen to be 7-years old. Or maybe 11. Story Smooth-talking operator Nick Persons (Ice Cube) is trying to land a date with Suzanne Kingston (Nia Long), a young, attractive single mom. We know he's smooth from the moment he strides onto the screen, flashing his cocky smile,
