Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
Five Filipino-American friends deal with the everyday struggle to bridge two cultures, while attempting to define what happiness and security mean for them in an adopted homeland. Mike, a compromised news editor, cannot reconcile the shallowness of his material existence with his political activist past. Marissa, a beautiful but vain socialite, falls victim repeatedly to the sexual indiscretions of her boyfriend Sam. Raul, Marissa's young cousin, enjoys the life of a womanizer until his sudden comeuppance. Gerry, a closeted gay, bears the push and pull between his Roman Catholic mother and his HIV-positive lover. And Terre, an accountant in her mid-forties and still single, becomes increasingly insecure about herself and her chances to find love in America.
