It's 1979, at the height of the disco era, and the low point of the hostage crisis in Iran. In Los Angeles, hard-working Iranian-American Houshang is trying to break away from his job as a lowly worker in his uncle's market to achieve the American Dream. All he needs to do is come up with the modest sum required to join in a partnership with Sahmi, an old family friend, to take over a disco for a single night--a night that just might lead to the thousand and one nights.
