Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
1957. A fiery object from space hurtles into a California desert mountaintop. A murderous creature--the Ghota, bent on destroying all life forms on the planet--escapes from the flying saucer. A benevolent alien, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis, a local astronomer, and with the help of Tammy, a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind.
"It achieves its hokiness by design, which renders it artificial and flat."
