synopsis
Set in Woodstock, the summer of 1969, a frustrated, beautiful young Brooklyn housewife, Pearl Kantrowitz, spends her summer in the Catskills. Her world is turned around when she has an affair with a free-wheeling traveling salesman, Walker Jerome--a charming and quietly seductive hippie. Pearl cannot help herself even as she begins to realize the consequences of her intense attraction. Pearl is having the time of her life--and she is finally becoming the person she always wanted to be. But when her foray to the Woodstock Festival in the arms of Walker Jerome results in a shattering family revelation, she must reconcile her old life with her new desires and dreams.

"A Walk on the Moon" follows the same pattern as Forces of Nature by matching up a square with a free spirit, but this time the relationship rings true.
