Laurent is the young soccer star of a small town in Normandy. Destined for greatness, he is teased by his half-Arab stepbrothers and doted on by his foul-mouthed, working class mother. Laurent is highly disciplined and eschews contact with most women -- that is until an opposing team member breaks his nose and comes to the hospital to apologize with his beautiful mother. Soon Laurent and the older woman are having a torrid sexual affair which they attempt to conceal from her son, who seems to harbor homoerotic desires for Laurent himself.
