A wealthy man on the East coast returns from a polo match to find that his father has been murdered. Upon examining his father's papers, he discovers that his family may have had a different name. He also finds evidence that causes him to suspect that a rancher may be implicated in the killing. He flies West, determined to solve the mystery of his father's death, and in the process, discovers a whole new family history.
