The "hachijuhakkasho" (Road to the Holy Place) is as unknown as it is long. The pilgrimage stretches over 1’300 km and circles the Japanese island of Shikoku, passing 88 temples. For more than 1’200 years mainly Japanese and Buddhists walk this road. In spring 2007 a German traveler, carrying a camera, embarked on his own journey to self and to his own private “henro boke” (state of mind).
