Why the F*%$ Did They Let Paris Hilton Out of Jail???

As you all know by now, Paris Hilton is out of jail, even after we, the public, were assured this young woman would serve at least half of her original 45-day sentence. So I think I speak for all of us when I say: What the f*%$??? Why was Paris Hilton let out of jail early? The official explanation from the L.A. County Sheriff is that she was released for "medical reasons." I'm sure more will come out in the next day or so, but, as of right now, word on the street seems to be that these "medical reasons" were that Paris was stressed out, not eating, not sleeping, and on the verge of a "nervous breakdown." So, in essence, Paris Hilton was really unhappy in jail. So, of course, the only logical solution is to let her out, because we can't have an unhappy Paris Hilton on our hands! Paris is still technically in custody, because she'll be serving the remaining 40 days of her sentence under house arrest (L.A. County says she's already served five days, since she was there for, like, one hour of Sunday night and two hours of Thursday morning), but her original sentencing stated very clearly that she was to have no such privileges. The backlash is already huge, and my guess is it'll only continue to grow. If the only "medical reason" Paris Hilton was let out of prison was her extreme unhappiness about having to be there, this is an incredibly blatant case of preferential treatment and of pocketbook justice. L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe already lashed out, stating that "this incident with Paris Hilton is just the most recent that highlights the problems our criminal justice system has with making sure sentences stick, whether it is in a County jail or under electronic monitoring," and hopefully that's only the tip of the iceberg.
