Who's Up/Who's Down: Stallone, Federline, Trump
United Artists
UP: Sylvester Stallone, Kevin Federline
Sly Stallone is up this week after his latest film, Rocky Balboa, opened to $6.3 million Wednesday and looks to have a solid first week total. The movie's a winner because of a surprisingly good screenplay and what just might be Stallone's best performance. Go get 'em, Rocco! I have tried not to mention Kevin Federline in print, but the guy has to be feeling good this week. Britney Spears hasn't been doing too well PR-wise these days, and things took a turn for the worse this week. Apparently Spears was at the Lakers-Wizards game last Sunday, and when a cameraman spotted her, he thought it'd be a good idea to put her on the Jumbotron. And it was ... to the delight of all the fans present at the Staples Center who proceeded to boo the living heck out of her. The camera crew -- who must report to a boss I'd get along with -- thought it would be a good idea to locate a Kevin Federline look-alike after eliciting such a reaction. Sure enough, they found their fugasi K-Fed, and the Staples Center cheered. Leave it to Federline to get his biggest ovation when he isn't even in the building. On a personal note, I'd love to have my own Jumbotron. I'd throw parties, stake out camcorders all over the place (all three rooms of my condo) and wait for two unsuspecting saps to be in frame for one of those embarrassing "Kiss Me Cam" moments. These are the thoughts that keep me up late at night. DOWN: Donald Trump, Cartoon Lovers You may have heard about Donald Trump's threats to sue Rosie O'Donnell after she called out New York's most obnoxious hometown boy for being so, well, obnoxious about some pageant winner people could care less about. As far as I'm concerned, both of them are clowns, but Trump's recent comments reek of arrogance. Also, he has really bad hair. Joe Barbera, the creator of some of my favorite childhood icons (Tom & Jerry, The Flintstones and The Jetsons) has passed on. He entertained generations of people just like me; people who believe hitting someone on the head with a sledgehammer won't kill them, just cause a very large bump that makes funny noises when it grows. From all of us freaks, you will be missed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Dre writes five times a week for Film.com, covering Movies and DVD with his Floridian flare. E-mail him! Most Popular Stories
