It's back to normal on CBS tonight, which means the criminally insane will be ranting on mindlessly as people watch in horror. But enough about Big Brother; let's discuss Criminal Minds and CSI: NY, both with their first post-strike episodes tonight. On Criminal Minds, the rest of the BAU team step in to assist Rossi (Joe Mantegna), as he decides to reopen a case from his first go-round at the FBI that focuses on the murder of two young parents. If this represents the show starting to close the book on Rossi's long alluded to emotional scars, then that would be wise, because it doesn't seem like most viewers much care. Nicholas Brendon of Buffy fame, the nice geek who filled in for Penelope after she was shot, is back tonight as well. The good people of CSI: NY get an anonymous tip that leads them to an abandoned warehouse in search of the Second Life assassin that we first encountered in the fall. I don't know that this plot was ever so entertaining for most fans that revisiting it six months later makes a lot of sense, but this show usually beats whatever ABC and NBC have on at this time, so the producers might know what they're doing. I wonder what happens if the real-world killer is found, but remains at large in cyberspace? America's Next Top Model (CW, 8 PM): On a very special Guantanamo episode of ANTM, the models are photographed lying face down in water; the remaining girls are split into two teams for go-sees. I never realized go-see was even a noun until this show began. Big Brother 9 (CBS, 8 PM): Either Joshuah or Sharon will be voted out. Sharon's solicitude for those guinea pigs is a little bit frightening. It's like the first stages of watching someone unravel in a horror movie. I was Buried Alive (National Geographic, 8 PM): Hey, with a title like that, is there any way you won't watch? Among those who are lucky to still be with us: a construction worker who found himself under a mound of dirt and a skier covered by snow. Wife Swap (ABC, 8 PM): A kickboxing mom from Colorado swaps into a karaoke-obsessed Maine family. So for those of you who have always dreamed of seeing a karaoke singer at the end of someone's boot, this may be your night. American Idol (Fox, 9 PM): A results night performance from the week's mentor, Dolly Parton. Also performing, fresh from a milk carton near you: the Clark Brothers, the winners of The Next Great American Band. Ghost Hunters (Sci Fi, 9 PM): The team investigates reports of paranormal activity at an Ohio estate that was once a stop on the Underground Railroad; a Massachusetts family claims it is seeing things in its home. John Ratzenberger's Made In America (Travel, 9 PM and 9:30 PM): At 9:00, Ratzenberger visits a catamaran builder in California and an old-fashioned showboat in Nashville. At 9:30, he looks at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium and the Portland Cement Company. Supernanny (ABC, 9 PM): A family with four rowdy homeschooled kids reaches out to Jo after the death of the kids' much-beloved grandfather. Destination Truth (Sci Fi, 10 PM): This show is teaching me so much about this planet of ours. Tonight, Josh hunts for a flying dinosaur in Zambia, and heads to the Amazon to look into reports of a "one-eyed sloth monster." Well, if you must live around monsters, the ones that move two miles an hour would be the kind you'd want to have. High School Reunion (TV Land, 10 PM): No one really wants to be around Steve anymore; Yvette lets Matt in on her secret. Is her secret that she's actually 23? She's the best preserved of this crowd by far. House Hunters (HGTV, 10 PM): A New York couple goes house hunting when they tire of renting. Be honest: the rats were getting to you, weren't they? Men In Trees (ABC, 10 PM): This series officially became Men Up a Creek earlier in the week when ABC announced it would be replaced by Boston Legal later in the month and would have its remaining episodes shunted off to the summer. Tonight, Morgan Fairchild arrives in Elmo and reveals she has an interest in buying the rights to Marin's life story. What's harder to believe here: that Marin has a life story worth buying, or that Morgan Fairchild can really afford it? South Park (Comedy Central, 10 PM): Canada has gone on strike, so the South Park gang steps in to ease the shortage of ironic singer-songwriters and offensive-minded defensemen with wicked slap shots. The Real World Awards Bash (MTV, 10 PM): As the oldest reality franchise of them all commemorates its 20th season, many of the past house denizens, predominantly those for whom the series is still their life highlight, gather for a mock awards show. Top Chef (Bravo, 10 PM): The chefs display their artistic abilities on vegetables; Chicago Sun-Times movie critic Richard Roeper hosts a dinner party with a movie theme. Tyler Perry's House of Payne (TBS, 10 PM and 10:30 PM): At 10:00, the family can't agree on what to do with a huge sum of money left in C.J.'s truck. At 10:30, C.J. is upset about Tanya's appearance in a music video, while the FBI wants to use the Payne home to spy on the house next door. UFO Hunters (History, 10 PM): The team talks to people who claim they have actually made contact with aliens. It turns out that in most cases, it was actually just me before my shower and first cup of coffee. The Ultimate Fighter (Spike, 10 PM): A new season begins with a group of 32 fighters being told they need to fight their way onto the show. DEA (Spike, 11 PM): A new series spotlighting the work of drug enforcement agents, no doubt with lots of that traditional Spike butt-kicking. Most Popular Stories
