Post-strike, there's been no issue more pressing than learning the intentions of both ABC and the creators of Lost regarding whether we're going to get a full 16-episode season after all. This is especially crucial for Lost because we know that it will end in 2010, and the original plan was to finish the story with three seasons of 16 episodes each. While anything short of 16 could always be made up next year, any cliffhanger that was originally slated to take place at the end of a sixteenth episode would have to be moved up if this season ends sooner than that, which could be disruptive to carefully drawn-up plans.

It now looks like Lost will have 13 episodes instead of 16, and a short hiatus after the seventh episode instead of the eighth. So let's hope the producers are nimble enough to deal with this change of plans, and that we will get both a satisfying season conclusion and the three missing episodes somewhere down the line. Tonight (ABC, 9 PM), we are supposed to learn the identity of another member of the "Oceanic Six." My money is on Sayid, since this looks like a big episode for the Iraqi, who goes with Kate and excitable newcomer Miles (Ken Leung) in search of Charlotte, who is in the custody of the Locke group.

Celebrity Rehab (VH1, 11 AM and 10 PM): It's getting near time for the end, so Dr. Drew meets with friends and family members of the rehabbers to prepare them for what is ahead.

NAACP Image Awards (Fox, 8 PM): The major award winners for this 39th annual event are Stevie Wonder, deservedly going into the Image Awards Hall of Fame, and Aretha Franklin, who is getting the Vanguard Award. D. L. Hughley hosts. I hesitate to attack royalty, but after Aretha's Grammy snit over someone else being referred to as a queen, I really have to invite her to please get over herself.

Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (BBC America, 8 PM): Gordo attempts to save the Fish & Anchor, a Welsh establishment co-owned by an ex-boxer and his wife. The boxer struggles in the kitchen while the wife berates customers up front.

Smallville (CW, 8 PM): Lex finds Kara in Detroit with amnesia, but a crazed busboy shoots him so he can't take Kara away; the busboy then takes Kara and Lois hostage. Poor Detroit: even on a show like Smallville, the bad PR never stops.

Survivor: Micronesia (CBS, 8 PM): Amanda was pretty chaste in China, but took only a few hours to jump Ozzy's bones in Micronesia. We didn't learn much about the fan tribe last week, since the opening episode usually concentrates on dynamics within the losing tribe. Instead, we got Johnny Fairplay's redemption hour. Were so many people really clamoring to see that guy after five years, that it was worth taking a spot from someone who really wanted to be there?

Carter Can (HGTV, 8:30 PM): Carter is in the can tonight, as he and his crew update a bathroom. I can't wait to hear about how the new tub was built from recycled pop bottles.

American Chopper (TLC, 9 PM): The first part of an assignment to build a chopper for Gander Mountain, a job which takes the boys outdoors to test their ability to rough it.

Celebrity Apprentice (NBC, 9 PM): The teams have to manage a horse-and-carriage business in Central Park; a big fight impacts one team's chances. Jenna Jameson drops in to support the effort of boyfriend Tito Ortiz.

Supernatural (CW, 9 PM): Dean is killed -- you read that correctly -- while he and Sam investigate a man's disappearance; when Sam finds Dean alive the next day, he realizes he is actually reliving the previous day and can try to prevent Dean from dying.

In Treatment (HBO, 9:30 PM): Alone with Paul at the start of the session, Amy confronts her feelings about her miscarriage; once Jake shows up late, he blasts both of them for allegedly teaming up against him.

Eli Stone (ABC, 10 PM): Eli's visions take him to the battlefields of World War II, leading him to a case of a soldier in the National Guard who is suing her ex-husband, and who happens to be represented by Taylor.

How Do They Do It? (Science, 10 PM): How do they make lock and key combos, car mufflers, and halogen light bulbs? We're glad you asked!

Lipstick Jungle (NBC, 10 PM): Nico is still hot and heavy with Kirby; Wendy learns that an upcoming novel features an unflattering character is clearly based on her; Victory uses her new boyfriend to help her put aside job worries.

Make Me a Supermodel (Bravo, 10 PM): Back in front of the camera after a week of catwalking, the models (minus Katy, Ronnie, or Casey, the three up for the vote) work with an acting coach who teaches them about how to convey emotion. Perry is probably the major contender at this point, but he had better hope he's never put up for America's vote because he's beginning to come across as a horse's hind end.
