It's a Real Housewives bonanza! Hot on the high heels of the Orange County, New York City and Atlanta editions comes the latest in Bravo's successful franchise -- The Real Housewives of New Jersey!
Bravo apparently never heard of having too much of a good thing.
The mostly brunette cast of New Jersey housewives includes family ties -- two are sisters and another is their sister-in-law. They are: sisters Dina Manzo and Caroline Manzo; Jacqueline Laurita, who is married to Dina and Caroline's brother; Teresa Giudice, whose husband works in construction (interesting...); and Danielle Staub, a self-described "tough cookie" who has a history of celebrity hook-ups. Jon Bon Jovi what?
A preview clip on Bravo's Web site shows Danielle preparing for a first date. They haven't met before but they've had phone sex. Classy!
The Real Housewives of New Jersey was anticipated by fans last year, but Bravo threw a curveball and introduced NeNe and Kim of Atlanta to the world instead. (Thank you, Bravo.)
The Real Housewives of New Jersey -- or Jersey Girls, as I will now call them -- premieres May 12 on Bravo, right around the time The Real Housewives of New York City ends it second season. A preview episode is scheduled for April 7.
Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
