Last week I covered the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in a live diary, and near the end I started blacking out. Three hours of marching bands and balloon jokes proved to be way too much for this simple writer's mind. Luckily no one noticed, and I've been handed another live diary assignment (and this one is a doozy).

Ladies and Gentleman, I'm covering the 2006 Victoria's Secret Holiday Special!

Now, mock me if you must, but I'm approaching this with the same tenacity and insightfulness that I bring to every project. Perhaps even more if you count the flack that I'm going to take from a non-supportive spouse for merely doing my "job." Never let it be said that I didn't suffer for my art.

So what do you have to look forward to? Well, based on the CBS website blurb, we're all in for a real treat. To start with, Justin Timberlake will be in the house performing! If that doesn't make your heart flutter, then consider what Vicky's Hush-Hush Holiday Gal Gisele had to say to Entertainment Tonight Online about the show:

"When you walk the runway, not only do you have almost no clothes on, but there are a lot of people there, and you are walking in heels, so you can trip."

I couldn't have said it better myself; this is shaping up to be the can't-miss televised lingerie show of the holiday season! I fondly recall last year's spectacle where we were treated to Ricky Martin's farewell performance, as well as the always classy trumpeter, Chris Botti. No, seriously, he played the trumpet last year, it was great. If music and the thought of lovely ladies wiping out doesn't hold any special appeal, then please do consider that everyone involved will be scantily clad (except the trumpeter). For you guys it's a chance to covet impossible looking women, and for our female readers it's an opportunity to size yourself up against genetic lottery winners.
