This episode of The Ultimate Fighter 7 began by recapping the Jesse Taylor victory for Team Forrest. Rampage seems to have learned something from last week's defeat. He said that he needs to know more about his fighters, so that he will know what they need to work on. He was his normal amusing self as he encouraged his team while they worked out.

Many on Team Rampage thought that the weakest of their team would be picked to go against the strongest of Team Forrest this week. Patrick Schultz of Team Rampage was convinced that he'd be the chosen one because he was considered to be the weakest on his team, and many of his teammates agreed with him.

While hanging out in the house, Matthew Riddle and Dante Rivera verbally sparred. They think that they will get the opportunity to fight each other at some point, so they mildly taunt each other at almost every opportunity. They are both a little cocky and it's harmless "boys will be boys" type talk. Matthew, however, is beginning to get on a few of his house mates' nerves because he doesn't confine his braggadocio to his interaction with Dante.

Surprisingly to me, at least, Forrest picked Matthew Riddle to fight Tim Credeur. Wow. This was Forrest's first pick going up against Rampage's second pick this early in the season. Tim's reasoning was that he was there to beat the best fighters and to develop his skills and that he wouldn't be doing anything for himself by fighting Patrick.

Okay, I can relate to that. But then he turned around and bashed Riddle. He was very disparaging of the kid's skills. So, was he lying when he said he wanted to fight the best fighters; was he just trying to shut the kid up, or was he trying to psyche himself up by putting Riddle down? He was even obnoxious to the kid at the weigh-in. These are two totally different fighters. Credeur is way intense and focused, saying that he has everything to lose here, and Riddle is like a little puppy dog, just starting out.

Then it was time for the fight, and it was a good one. Round one was dominated by Riddle at the beginning, but the tide turned and it seemed like he was saved by the bell by the end of the round. Credeur started off round two as strong as he ended round one, but Riddle seemed to get his second wind and turned it around. Riddle had him! Credeur was gassed.

Then Riddle's inexperience showed. He wasn't able to finish him off. He took Credeur down to the mat, and even though Rampage and his corner was screaming at him to bring it back up, he didn't listen. And it cost him. He got caught in a nasty arm bar and had to tap out.

We saw from the fight-ins how it ticked Rampage off when these kids don't listen, so he was really upset and disappointed in the results of this one. I imagine he's really gonna ride his guys next week. Can they rebound? We'll see on the next episode of The Ultimate Fighter 7.
