Things were fairly quiet on the Twitter front this week as Oprah seemingly discovered the Internet and began tweeting away. Lauren Conrad from The Hills signed up for Twitter, joining other cast mates such as Heidi Montag and Whitney Port. Many people seemed to be en route from one vacation or job to another, often across continents.

Since last week's race to a million followers between Ashton Kutcher and CNN, everyone on Twitter seems to be busy, and tweeting about average activities. While some people find celebrities tweeting about daily life to be obnoxious, Twitter could be a very powerful tool for celebrities and fans to interact without the layers that usually separate the two. Could Twitter one day eventually replace gossip magazines? If celebrities themselves are the ones providing the content, confirming or denying rumors, and breaking their own news, the power has been put back into their hands, and people love it. While some celebrities are more active and involved than others, I think we'll see a surge of celebrities joining Twitter in the coming months. Let's get right to this week's batch of tweets!

Editor's Note: If you want to follow the person on Twitter, click on their name before the Tweet!
