Plaid is a trend that seems to rear its head every fall, and whether it's the influence of Gossip Girl or a resurgence of the country-western vibe, plaid is hotter than ever. Designers and celebs are all about this look for fall. Dolce and Gabbana used the pattern throughout their entire Fall 2008 D&G womenswear collection, and celebs like Diane Kruger, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Conrad and Vanessa Hudgens have been seen sporting the trend.
I'm a big fan of this look for fall. It's cozy and charming and perfect for that whole back-to-school vibe. It's also really easy to incorporate plaid pieces into your wardrobe. With sophisticated and feminine jackets, skirts, dresses, shirts, shoes and bags available, plaid can be an accessory or the focal point of your look. From this flirty dress from Gap to these funky booties by L.A.M.B., you'll find plaid in all sorts of adorable incarnations and at a variety of price points.
My only advice: Wear just one plaid item at a time, whether it's a blouse, a bag or something in between. Otherwise, you'll end up looking like you belong under a Christmas tree.
