Across the UniverseFilm - Best Musical or Comedy
Across the Universe
Charlie Wilson's War
Hairspray
Juno
Sweeney Todd

Biggest Stretch:
Across the Universe was ambitious... but not a classic film.

Biggest Snub:
How do you miss a film like Once? Did they not pay off the right people? Also, Superbad was the comedy of 2007, Golden Globes nomination or no.

Who I'm Cheering For:
Juno. Why not? I like Ellen Page and Michael Cera. They seem like good eggs.

Winner:
Juno. Hairspray was a surprise hit but the awards are usually handed out to films that come out after September.

Amy Adams in EnchantedActress - Musical or Comedy
Amy Adams - Enchanted
Ellen Page - Juno
Marion Cotillard - La Vie En Rose
Nikki Blonsky - Hairspray
Helena Bonham Carter - Sweeney Todd

Biggest Stretch:
I don't know if the La Vie En Rose nomination is a stretch but the film certainly isn't on the anyone's radar.

Biggest Snub:
Why not Keira Knightley for Pirates of the Caribbean? The Globes counted Pirates as a comedy last year, so I don't think it would be too crazy. Or Loren Horsley from Eagle vs. Shark if you're looking to reward a lesser budget, she was great in that film.

Who I'm Cheering For:
Adams. She was solid in a movie that could have come off terrible. I hope she ends up with an Oscar nomination too, she was that good.

Winner:
This is a tough one, but I'm going to say Helena Bonham Carter. Adams was better but they may want her to pay more dues.

Johnny Depp in Sweeney ToddActor - Musical or Comedy
John C. Reilly - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
Philip Seymour Hoffman - The Savages
Tom Hanks - Charlie Wilson's War
Ryan Gosling - Lars and the Real Girl
Johnny Depp - Sweeney Todd

Biggest Stretch:
Phil Seymour Hoffman. Look, I know he's supposed to get a nomination every time he puts on the tights but that movie will never be seen by anyone... anywhere. No, box office success shouldn't be confused with art, but there were worthier choices out there such as...

Biggest Snub:
Seriously, no one from Superbad?? Cera has to feel completely jobbed as he put up two worthy performances this year. I could also see Rhys Meyers for August Rush. What? He was serious? Oh man, wow, sorry about that.

Who I'm Cheering For:
I guess Ryan Gosling? I don't know, this group is missing a true champion for me.

Winner:
Depp has a clear path to victory. People seem to love him.
